Previous employers

My first employer was a construction company named Bouwbedrijf Bokma. As a manufacturing engineer and designer the number of activities in my work were diverse. The company had an engineering, a production and a constructional division which worked closely together throughout the entire process to ensure optimal results. The company always encouraged me to develop in a professional way. This provided me with a broad view on the construction process and therefore proved a very instructive working environment.

In 2004 I decided to look out for a profession which enabled me to aim more at the regulatory requirements for the building industry. That is when I installed at the municipality of Dantumadeel. I started in the profession as a licensing officer for building permits and acquired more tasks along the way. Throughout the years, experience enabled me to play a more important role regarding policy making and the tutoring of fellow staff members. Furthermore I took upon tasks regarding the preparation of operational procedures as a result of new legislation.

In December 2008 I started working for Maandag, a secondee company. They employ people in numerous work environments ranging from healthcare to technical oriented companies. I mostly worked  for various municipalities which needed assistance in the judging of permit applications concerning development plans. Besides that a considerable part of the tasks included the advising of the Municipal Executive regarding requests for exemption and the making of new policy.
